Smart Battery Connector

Standard smart batteries are compatible with the Tyco range of male standard battery connectors. Due to the numerous versions available we suggest customers source these themselves from Tyco. We do however stock the 787446-1 connector (Moltech Part Number CO0349) which is useful for development purposes and fits all of the standard smart batteries.

Please note that this part does not have a polarisation key - care must be taken when using this part to prevent damage to your battery, device or charger.

Smart Battery Connector Mounting PCB
   

The smart battery connector PCB (Moltech part number: BL106B1) accepts the Tyco 787446-1 smart battery connector and five wires up to 2.0mm². It is useful for making connection to our range of standard smart batteries during product development. Two 3.2mm diameter mounting holes are provided for mechanical attachment to a test fixture or chassis.

The board measures 64mm x 19.0mm x 0.80mm. BL106B1 is supplied without wires or connector.

5 way - Straight Smart Battery Connecting Lead
 
Moltech part number 629010

The straight 5 way smart battery connector lead (Moltech part number 629010) fits the following smart batteries with a protruding connector: NJ1020, NI2020, NL2020, NL2024. The ~600mm long insulated lead is supplied without termination so customers can fit their own plug or wire directly into their device. For details of this part fitted with a special plug please contact us.

Internal connections: Battery Positive (red), Battery Negative (black), data (green), Clock (white), T Sense (brown).

Note that the shroud on the 629010 can be removed using a sharp knife making it suitable for all 10.8V, 12.0V and 14.4V standard smart batteries (not 3.6V or 7.20V). We only recommend this procedure for development and laboratory projects only.

2 way - Coiled Smart Battery Connecting Lead

The coiled 2 way smart battery connector lead (Moltech part number 629011) fits the following smart batteries with a protruding connector: NJ1020, NI2020, NL2020, NL2024. The ~600mm long insulated lead is supplied without termination so customers can fit their own plug or wire directly into their device. For details of this part fitted with a special plug please contact us.

Internal connections: Only Battery Positive (red) and Battery Negative (black) connections are included in this lead. Connections for Data, Clock and T Sense are not included.
